Edith
E. (Susie) Taylor, 64 of Springville, VA, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019
after a courageous battle with COPD. She was the daughter of the late Mary
Kathleen and Roosevelt Proffitt.
She was the plant manager for Sealy Mattress Company for 38 years. Edith was a faithful member of Open Door Church at Baptist Valley, VA with Pastor Charlie McGlothlin. She was part of a Gospel Singing Group, The Singing Taylors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 5 brothers: Donald Proffitt, Tommy Proffitt, Ralph Proffitt, Larry Proffitt and Jerry Proffitt; 1 sister: Darlene Jackson.
Edith will be missed deeply by everyone who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 28 years: Theodore (Ted) Taylor; sister: Phyllis Poole and husband, Jerry of Princeton, WV; sister-in-law: Carrie Proffitt Walters, who was very close to Susie for many years; Edith was a godmother to Lisha Proffitt Richardson, Lorrie Proffitt and Jerry Proffitt, Jr.
Graveside rites will be conducted Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Charlie McGlothlin officiating.
Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Grandview Mausoleum no later than 10:45 A.M.
